WRITE ABOUT US: The Gottardo is an understated and stylish looking boot (it's Italian so you'd expect no less), which is ideal for summer hillwalking since it combines light weight for a leather boot (940 gr/pair) with smart 2mm nubuck/Cordura uppers which are breathable and waterproof along with a very grippy Vibram Mars outsole that's well suited to dry and dusty conditions.
There's a generous toe rand to protect that nice leather, and good heel and ankle support and torsional stability. You'll need to bear in mind that the last isn't as wide as most of the other boots we tested, and there's some initial stiffness in the uppers so a bit of breaking in is required, but all in all a really nice, well-priced boot. |
